Join us for a wiikend of wiimote hackery with the Technoculture, Art and Games group at Concordia University.
The aim of Wiimote Wiikend is to bring together a dynamic group of artists and designers and hackers (oh my!) to explore the potential of the wiimote as a material and a tool for building interactive systems.
This group of people will be designing a diverse variety of different projects, from soft and fluffy game controllers, to tools for teaching physics. This is not necessarily a meeting of experts, rather it's a gathering of people to help each other learn this platform for creativity together.
The goals of Wiimote Wiikend include:
- to allow each participant to make some progress on a project they've been wanting to build.
- to put our heads together and figure out some shared implementation issues.
- to get a feel for the wiimote as a material, to understand its hackable capabilities and add another tool to all our implementation toolboxes.
- to build some friendly and designy connections amongst people from different cities and institutions, who share a love of design and hackery.
You don't need to be a gamer to enjoy some wiimote hackery.
